[ What terrorist attack? What Dave? Ignis hasn't completely forgotten about those things, but he has something more important, someone more special looking back at him, blushing a bit and smiling at Ignis.

He gently lifts his hand up a bit on Noct's middle and laces their fingers together. His first reaction is to pick Noctis up and squeeze him hard, but that can wait until he's healed.

All he hears is I love you without Noctis saying it. After what he's heard about Noct being able to stay... and it was his choice to come back and save Ignis, throwing away his memories in the process. A price to pay for that.

He's loved. Undoubtedly so. He feels it and hears it from the man that's a bit embarrassed giving him a smile. Ignis' own smile gets a little bigger and he leans in to kiss Noctis softly, closing his own eyes. No, nothing else matters right now, other this man and this moment that they're sharing. Together. ]

[Noctis closes his eyes and leans into the touch, smiling tentatively as he recognizes that Ignis isn't upset or angry at his choice, but rather is touched, happy even. He's glad. It's not like he had expected the worst, but he remembered enough to know that Ignis didn't like him sacrificing himself, in part or in full, for others too much. But no, Ignis doesn't mind it. He can see what it is: a demonstration and declaration of love, more than anything else. That, on top of everything else they'd experienced since his miraculous return, is proof enough that he made the right choice.]

[ Ignis breaks apart the kiss, breathless as he lays his head back down onto Noctis' shoulder. His eyes are slipping shut, he's exhausted from worrying himself senseless and from the nightmares. ]

Thank you for loving me, [ Feeling absolutely grateful to have Noctis back in his life like this. He tries to fight off sleep, but he's failing. He mumbles a soft apology before sleep claims him, luring him into a world of dreams. ]

[ When he wakes, he's not even sure how long he was out for. He blinks sleepily, looking up at Noctis. Did he sleep at all...? ]

Noct?

[He slept! He absolutely slept, he needed it badly. It isn't an especially deep sleep however, so the sound of his name rouses him after a moment, shifting his head just enough to burrow against Ignis' neck. Now that there's no Astral voice in his head forcing him upright, he's resistant to waking- some things really never change, lost memories or not.

He's smiling as he dozes, though.]

[ He's not all surprised that Noct's knocked out like that, considering the attack and Noct's horrible sleeping habits on top of that. He looks so peaceful sleeping like that he can't bring himself to wake him up just yet.

Ignis shuts his eyes again, nuzzling against Noctis while he waits for him to wake up fully. ]

[It takes a little bit, but finally Noctis stirs again, curling up closer to Ignis as he starts to recognize where he is and who he's with.]

...Iggy...? S'morning?

Noct. [ Ignis lets Noctis curl up closer, adjusting himself in the process. ]

How are you feeling?

[How does he feel... how does he feel. He shifts a bit, moving his arm carefully- the one that had been stabbed. It still hurts, but less than he'd have expected.]

...Better, I think. Or better than yesterday at least.

That's good to hear. [ He exhales softy. ] You know I've been worried about you.

We're expecting company soon today, Dave, he helped me get us back here. He's covered our room for a few extra days.

[ Ignis just hopes that it's more good news. ]

Are you hungry, Noct?

Dave?

[The name doesn't ring any bells, either when Ignis says it or when he echoes it back. He hadn't expected it to, but he's not sure if it should. Regardless, he shakes it off.]

Um, I could eat.

[He's not sure if Messengers can die of starvation or anything like that, it isn't as if Gentiana gave him a primer on how to live this way. It would be weird if he didn't eat, though, so he may as well live normally. It's... his life, after all.

The thought still leaves him kind of giddy, even after everything that's happened.]

A good friend of ours. He's one the very first people that we met during our first journey.

[ Ignis is hungry himself, but first things first. ]

Let's check on your wounds. [ He untangles himself from Noctis and carefully slides off the bed. ] Are you able to sit up?

[Noctis files that name away for later, then, recognizing its importance. Whatever happened in the past, he saved them this time.]

I think so. Hang on...

[He shifts carefully, pushing back against the bed, and with Ignis' help he's able to sit upright. He doesn't immediately collapse afterwards, nor does he feel like he's about to. That's a good sign.]

Was I always a fast healer?

[ Ignis checks on the shoulder wound first, after helping Noctis sit up. He's a bit surprised how quickly it seems to be healing. ]

Not this fast, no.

You're a Messenger, Noct. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

[ Then he's moving to check on Noct's other wounds, being careful not to upset them. ]

Dunno. Know where we can find a book on Messenger healthcare?

[His tone is tired but a little playful; he's almost certain no such book would exist. The Messengers are in some ways more mysterious than the Astrals themselves. Rarely do they interact with the common populace, nevermind let humans examine them. This is likely one of the longest stretches of time that a Messenger has ever stayed around a mortal, besides... Gentiana? The... dogs...? He blinks a few times, on the fringe of a memory and trying to chase it.

Beneath the bandages, the wounds have healed about twice as fast as they should have. Still there, but long-finished bleeding and starting to scab over.]

I'm afraid not.

[ Though he glances at Noct's face, smiling in the process. Then he goes back to checking out the rest of the wounds, pleased at what he sees. Once he's done, Ignis moves over to Noctis' side, taking one of his hands in his. ]

Let's see if you're able to walk okay.

[Noctis holds on to Ignis and shuffles forward with help, moving to the edge of the bed. It takes some effort, and definitely balancing from Ignis, but he's able to stand and, after a pause to let his body adjust to the weight, takes a few wobbly steps.]

...Might need help for a bit, but... looks like yeah?

[ Ignis gently gets an arm around Noctis' shoulders for support and helps him take a few steps. ]

Did it hurt to move?

[ In any case, he turns his head to plant a kiss on Noctis' cheek before he pulls back a bit. He keeps his grip on Noct's shoulders, always careful about the wounds there. ]

A little.

[The perks of losing his memory is that he's somewhat less inclined to lie when he's in pain. His lips quirk upwards a little.]

You're kissing it better, doctor.

[ Ignis exhales a light laugh as he moves them back to the bed, gently setting Noctis back down. ]

If you're flirting with me, then it's working. [ He teases gently as he sits next to Noct. ]

Oh, uh. [He looks a bit sheepish, cheeks faintly pink.] Lucky me, then. I figured I'd be rusty, but... good to know.

[ Alright yes, Noctis wins this one. He plants a quick kiss on Noct's lips and pulls back, giving off a slight smirk in the process. ]

Will you be alright if I ran out to get us some food?

It'd be pretty crazy if I got saved just to die in a hotel.

[Before Ignis goes too far, though, Noctis catches his hand, holding him there with a frown.]

But... is it safe? Are there more of them out there? I don't want something to happen while I'm not with you.

[ Ignis doesn't move, holding onto Noctis' hand at that. He leans his head against Noct's shoulder, squeezing his eyes shut. ]

Dave's a hunter and he knows about the terrorist group, he wasn't.... thrilled to know that they've been after me. And now you.

I don't know if he recognized you.

I'm hoping that he'll bring us good news in that.

[ He exhales softy, quietly. ]

I'll stay, I don't want to put you through that worry.

[Noctis winces, feeling guilty for his paranoia now. He's in no state to go walking around town, but sitting here and going hungry isn't an option either. They already ate the leftovers.]

Um... you don't have to...

[There has to be a better option, but he's too new to the city in this era - or, well, at all, since his memories are gone - he's not sure what to suggest. What does come to mind is potentially a solution for this nervousness.]

...Ignis, can we get... phones?

[ Ignis wraps his arms back around Noctis, giving off a soft hm noise as he thinks about it. ]

My phone is in the car, if you want, I can write down my number and you can call it from here.
