Skills:

-trained by the "greatest ninja the world has ever seen", in his words, so he's got some martial arts moves
-uses a hockey stick chainsaw as a weapon and is quite handy with it
-acrobatics, grappling hook, climbing and jumping/landing well; he's quick on his feet and moves pretty efficiently
-strong enough to support/half-carry a huge mutant turtle across a battlefield; he has more strength than his appearance implies
-assumed by context clues: good with Donatello's tech, some gear repair, and limited first aid due to who raised him and his ability to act independently/unsupervised (eg. helping future Leonardo while the other was wounded and only semi-conscious)

Canon Abilities: As a regular human he technically has no special abilities, just learned skills. However as someone adopted into the Hamato clan similar to April, he has the potential to channel/borrow mystic abilities from a willing magic donor. Since he's never demonstrated this in canon I'm only putting it here for reference and any abilities aligned with this would develop slowly via viable in-game methods. (tl;dr: none, really.)

He's young and the world is full of new choices, so he'll be expressing himself through a variety of different forms. He'll settle eventually on a couple of specific forms:
-some kind of dog, quick, loyal, obedient
-hedgehog, small speedy and spiky
-pangolin for the armor, turtle adjacent mammal
-actual turtle for obvious reasons

In human form a few subtle changes will creep out, and will echo on the skin or fur of his familiar forms. He'll have a marking from each of the future turtles somewhere (likely on his limbs/under his clothes. Still deciding on specifics!).

Role Reasoning: Casey is still a youngin, very much a follower in the steps of those he reveres as great heroes of the apocalypse resistance. He has all the potential for great things but as he is now, he lacks the sort of confidence to lead or go it alone. His first instinct is to find help, unsure how to accomplish his goals on his own. He does very well in a supportive role, however.

★ Personality ★

Casey Jones was born in the midst of a 20+ year worldwide apocalypse, which means he has had a difficult life. As a result he's more of a trained warrior than a regular teenager. He's polite and sensible, overall a good kid trying to make the best of a bad situation. He's quick to act in a fight, helping others and striking true rather than acting in a more flashy manner like the past versions of the turtles who raised him (as he grew up without the luxury of lower stakes shenanigans).

Casey can be a little naive and clueless about what's considered "normal". He doesn't know what it means to BE normal, so his social skills are more goal based than fun based. Not as much fun to be had in the apocalypse, so he's bound to be overwhelmed and overdramatic when experiencing new and positive norms most take for granted.

Casey has a lot of respect for authority and the chain of command. On the battlefield he follows orders, focuses on the task ahead of him, and does his best to coordinate with his allies, rather than goofing off the way the young turtles are used to. He takes his mission to save the future very seriously, carrying his sensei's final orders forward despite all obstacles that cross his path. He keeps his eyes on the prize even if it might seem callous to others- when Leo returns to the sewers with the portal key Casey was searching for, he's celebratory, while the others are distressed over the loss of Raph. It's not that Casey doesn't care, but he understands the stakes where they don't. If he fails his mission, the world ends. Success means hope, and he wholeheartedly believes and echoes his sensei's belief of hope being "a ninja's greatest weapon".

As noted he's a follower. He knows better than to try and go it alone, and recognizes the value in depending on other people. He looks to others for guidance and support, believing that they know better on how to handle a difficult situation. He's not afraid to ask for help when he needs it, nor does he hesitate to help someone else who needs him. He's still very much a kid despite his attempts at maturity. Despite past-Leo not being the sensei who raised him, Casey is still comforted by Leo's confirmation that he and his future self are proud of him. Missing his true family, he craves that validation.

On the other hand he has no qualms about lashing out and criticizing someone when he sees that they've screwed up. His pep talk to Leo after they failed to properly invade the Krang's tower was not gentle, but it was also what Leo needed to hear. He's quick to forgive genuine remorse. He has a bit of a devious side, demonstrating that he was primarily raised by Leo; when he gets the result he wants after said lecture, he secretly smirks, accomplishing one more mission and getting them one step closer to stopping the apocalypse.

Casey at full potential would probably be closer to his originating source version (eg one of the oldschool Casey Jones iterations in TMNT, typically an adult): confident, stronger than he is now, experienced in both the grim version of the world as well as the brighter future he now lives in, and carrying all the best qualities of his family and sensei without the survivor's guilt to hold him back.
