[Billy takes the bag from her and holds it open, peering cautiously into the other one from a distance to check the contents already thrown away. Clint sure kept a lot of stuff that looks like it belongs in the garbage.]

Well he sure wasn't inviting his team. ...But that might have something to do with the fact that we're all underage, so who really knows.

[The downside of being the old fart in the Kooky Quartet 2.0. It's both an offering of sympathy and solidarity at the same time- Clint wasn't forthcoming with them about his plans, either, and while the New Avengers were nowhere near as close to him as she was (who is, these days?) he can understand the sting of being left in the dark by someone you're supposed to trust.]

...Maybe he just likes snacking on them. Lots of people do.

[ sometimes -- sometimes -- the idea that she went solo while clint went and co-opted her best friends with some new team? it rankles her. makes her skin prickle with hostility. but this isn't one of those times, and instead it's enough to make her make eye contact.

he's just as at a loss as i am, she realizes. it's hard to swallow that she isn't the only one left in clint's dust. she wants to martyr herself, but her better judgement and cooler head prevails. ]

Is he good? [ she asks, out of compulsion. ] On the team. Is he good?

Good... good is relative.

[Billy takes a moment to consider his actual response; it's been interesting, working with the older Hawkeye- eye-opening for sure, and it made him miss Kate all the more.]

It started out weird. I guess it never stopped being weird. I mean, he literally admitted to being a spy for SHIELD, but he always acted like things were fine, otherwise. And when Roberto kicked us out - or kicked himself out - he was fine with not being the leader. And there's gotta be something wrong with you if you want me as a leader, right?

[Here's where he'd insert a self-deprecating laugh. Except he doesn't much feel like laughing.]

...He was good... until he wasn't. That's all I can really say for sure.
