State of the Muses - August 2013
character: Billy Kaplan / Wiccan (![]() series: Marvel Comics: Young Avengers tagging priority: ■■■■■: Billy tags come the easiest and the fastest. Sometimes I leave them for last just because there's SO MANY so cleaning out the other three takes a fraction of the time, but I have the most incentive to do Billy's and sometimes I skip ahead to a few of his... muse strength: ■■■■■: He's generally my go-to guy for tagging out, because he's still so versatile. cast strength: ■■■□□: TEDDY AND KATE AND CASSIE'S RESERVED AND SHIKKI MIGHT BRING TOMMY BACK AND OH MY GOD...!!!! plotting capabilities: ■■■■■: Like I said, versatile. I can do practically anything with this kid. He's as magical as his own powers. general fun level: ■■■■■: 110% and counting. likelihood of drop: □□□□□: NEVER |
Other Thoughts: Playing Billy is amazing. It has always been amazing, and I'm still so happy I decided to go for it. He's fun, he's easy, he's all over the place, and people seem to like him (players and characters alike). I've never had a character like this, and with the Marvel cast being so big and awesome he always has something going on. On top of that, being close to both Lokis, having a Wanda from Evo of all canons, and his own comic ongoing to give me a steady stream of new content? He's crazy active. He's consuming everyone else still. It's exciting and a little heartbreaking, hahaha...
And the cherry on that all-devouring cake is the fact that finally, finally it's almost time for the House of M player plot. There isn't a solid date yet, some time in September/October for sure, but definitely soon. I'm so excited for it, and I know a bunch of people are looking forward to it, too. A game plan has been formed, I think he'll be okay in the aftermath, but it'll be rough for a while. If it gets too bad, I have a good place for a canon update if it becomes necessary, and... idk. I just feel really secure all around in how things are going/will go for him. Hopefully he doesn't lose any CR when it happens; he'll certainly be apologetic about it. Sob...
character: Edward Elric (![]() series: Fullmetal Alchemist tagging priority: ■■□□□: He's been closer to the bottom, usually because I don't have many tags for him. muse strength: ■■■□□: I don't think he's doing too bad, but if I could tear myself away from The Last Of Us I could really do with a review again. Probably should read the manga. cast strength: ■■■□□: He has his parents back! And Batty's around with Winry again, so he's going good here. We're all a little slow, but that's okay. plotting capabilities: ■■■□□: The potential is there, I'm just really bad at it. I got him in on the Sokka stuff a bit, and the Pride thing kicked me back in gear when he was Ed again, and now I have him involved in the Haru fight. I'd say he's improving, I just need to kick myself more. general fun level: ■■■□□: It's been quiet. I need to get him sassing with people again, he's been pretty down lately. likelihood of drop: ■□□□□: Obligatory square, but he's okay. I'd only drop him if I had to go down to like three characters, I think, and even then it would be hard to pick between him and Asch. |
Other Thoughts: I think I'm doing better with Ed than I was the last time I did this, but it's worse now than it was a few months ago. I want to keep on improving, so maybe a gradual curve of "okay let's do this NOW THIS AND THIS" just to keep him occupied... Billy really needs a cool-down, but with House of M he'll be super busy, so maybe after that's over I can take a couple weeks to focus seriously on my other boys. Until then they're coasting along, and it's not horrible, but I'm definitely going to work on it.
character: Asch the Bloody (![]() series: Tales of the Abyss tagging priority: ■■■□□: Third or fourth. muse strength: ■■■■□: I haven't had issues with him and no one's complaining, but sometimes I wonder. He's changed a lot in Luceti, so I've been trying to bring back his attitude a bit more here and there as sort of a revival of bad habits. idk if it's succeeding. cast strength: ■■■□□: I'm never sure what to put here, because we have a grand Abyss cast but Asch hardly even talks to any of them. Luke, occasionally Ion... hell, he hardly talks to Arietta and they live together. I feel very disconnected, and I know that's mostly my fault but I don't know how to close the gap with a character like Asch. It might just be the nature of the beast. plotting capabilities: ■■□□□: Asch is such a quiet muse. Sometimes I think I should send him home so he can finally die and have it done and over with, but it just seems pointless because he was brought in RIGHT before dying so... he'd be home for like five minutes. Wow talk about pointless. I don't think it would change anything anyway, just fuck with him a bit and then it'd be back to the status quo. general fun level: ■■■□□: He... really needs more going on. But his threads are fun and easy so I tend to not fuss too much, when I should at least fuss a little more. Oi. likelihood of drop: ■□□□□: Obligatory square with a big question mark. |
Other Thoughts: Asch is... hrngh. He's okay but I know he's not doing as well as he should. As with Ed, I need to post with him, but I'm kept so busy with Billy that I slack off on coming up with ideas for him. He's coasting the same way as a result, so what I should really do is sit my ass down and review. Maybe get Animal Crossing out of my fucking 3DS for a few days lol. As it stands right now, he's... not in danger or anything, but he's still slacking. Asch is naturally antisocial so I'd never expect my tag levels to even out, but he needs to be out there enough to safely pass AC, and last time was pretty close. I don't like that. I need a mini-plot or a shift effect or something.
character: Fluttershy (![]() series: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic tagging priority: ■■□□□: She's generally third or fourth. muse strength: ■■■□□: She's okay. Could be better, and I don't headcanon much or talk to people about the canon which is what has characters like Billy going so strong, but her tags are pretty easy. cast strength: ■■□□□: We have a cute little trio but it's pretty small and quiet. plotting capabilities: ■■□□□: I... she's good for the cutesy girly stuff? But I am not a big fan of that stuff so I kind of slack off. It's unfortunate, and I blame the fact that she's not normally my type. I just really love her ;; general fun level: ■■■□□: I have fun with her when I do stuff! I just... don't do much stuff. lol. God I'm bad at this. likelihood of drop: ■■■□□: Call it more like a 2.5 rather than 3. Details below. |
Other Thoughts: So, Fluttershy. We meet again in this corner of "wat am I doin". She's basically on her way out the door, but I'd say she has a few months left in her before her time to leave Luceti finally comes. I'm having fun with her human form, and wow are her icons ever super-cute like that. I haven't decided when she'll change back, but I think it was a good decision to keep her like that post-event. I like to stir the pot a bit, and it really brought her back to life. But a character like her was never really planned to be long-term, she's just... not my style, or interesting enough to get some good development in a game like Luceti. I pretty much wanted to give her another shot and see how much fun I could have with her in as much time as possible, but again it comes down to the fact that if I had to free up some space, she'd be gone in a snap. I want her to go when I'm ready for it, so... 2-4 months is my guess. We'll see.
Possible Apps
[■■■■■] Ellie | The Last of Us
Her app is done and her voice is testing REALLY WELL (at least for me, I'm loving it, but feedback is totally welcome), so I think I'm gonna go for it. Fluttershy's on her way out (not yet, but at some point) and I have time in my schedule for 5, so I think I'm okay. I'd be more comfortable with three or four, if I was gonna be totally honest, but I don't want to drop anyone immediately and I really want to give Ellie a shot. If I had to pick four I'd probably drop Fluttershy and try Ellie anyway, so I figure, why not give five a shot? My only hang-up is not actually being able to play the game myself, but Youtube has a ton of LPs and I have everything downloaded in an HQ movie that I've watched about five times lol. Plus her background comics which I really enjoyed. So yeah, she's probably fine.
WANNA DO IT?
