State of the Muses: June 2012

character: Billy Kaplan / Wiccan ([personal profile] selfhelp)
series: Marvel Comics: Young Avengers
tagging priority: ■■■■■: Billy has somehow managed to trump Ed. Not sure how that happened.
muse strength: ■■■■■: Holy shit is this little bastard noisy.
cast strength: ■□□□□/■■■■□: I-I MAY BE GETTING A TEDDY? Possibly a Tommy too(!!!!), but that's less certain. Indirectly, I love how he's gotten integrated into the Marvel cast. It's been surprisingly smooth and I adore his CR like burning. I hope I get to see it develop more. And always room to grow!
plotting capabilities: ■■■■■: He's new, he's open, he's chatty as fuck. So much potential here. He's already getting invited into plots with other characters and it's super-exciting c:
general fun level: ■■■■■: I think this goes without saying.
likelihood of drop: □□□□□: Pfffffft no.

Other Thoughts: I am so, so happy with how well Billy has worked out for me. I was honestly worried about how I'd do with him, but at this point it feels like he's basically become Ed 2.0: a new character that I adore but was super-unsure about, and then it turns out that he's exactly what I needed. Go fig? So yeah, he's integrating with the setting really well. He's definitely starting to hit the "oh god I'm kind of homesick" stage, and he has a lot of trauma that can be played with in the future, but for now he's too busy letting himself get distracted by all the fanboy awesomeness surrounding him.

character: Edward Elric ([personal profile] automailed)
series: Fullmetal Alchemist
tagging priority: ■■■■□: Taken a slight hit due to Billy, but I tend to switch between the two of them for first tags, so Ed is still high up there.
muse strength: ■■■■□: Same as above. They should balance out at some point.
cast strength: ■■■□□: Still love the cast like burning, but we're gonna take some bad hits soon, so it might be rough.
plotting capabilities: ■■■■□: Lower than before, but I dunno, maybe it should be the same? Getting him to post-canon position, mentally, has caused him to stop caring so much about going home, so hopefully he'll get himself more comfortable in the Luceti setting soon. That might help integrate him with more CR outside of his cast. We'll see.
general fun level: ■■■■■: He's still a lot of fun to play, so no concerns here.
likelihood of drop: □□□□□: lolno.

Other Thoughts: I still have a fabulous list of things I want to do with him eventually, either with kidnappings or events, though I might need to sort out how to do some of them without Al around. Either that or wait and see if I get another Al. (And pray they're as fabulous to plot with as Shikki ;A;) I should post with him this month, though, he's due. He's still got a few projects ongoing and he definitely needs to practice alkahestry more, so there's stuff to keep him occupied.

character: Asch the Bloody ([personal profile] dissonates)
series: Tales of the Abyss
tagging priority: ■■■□□: He's down to third, I think. Not doing too badly though, I still keep up with him without issue.
muse strength: ■■■■□: Bumped up one from last time. The player plot really gave him a boost, and I'm feeling good.
cast strength: ■■■■□: Characters relevant to Asch took a hit, but we still have such an amazing cast, hrngh.
plotting capabilities: ■■■□□: This is probably going to take a hit due to his current blindness. Still waiting on whether or not that was a good long-term idea. Still, four months tends to fly, so he'll probably be okay.
general fun level: ■■■■□: Still a non-issue. It seems like almost everything I do with Asch, it ends up being fun. |D
likelihood of drop: □□□□□: Nope, he's okay.

Other Thoughts: Well, he's still pretty isolated, but it's better than it was before. Which is a big relief because for the moment he's more housebound than he was before. If Loupe does bring Van back soon, I imagine it'll make things complex again, but by then Asch will be more adjusted to his blindness, so I don't see a problem with him getting out and about. Basically I think the timing for everything was, for me, really good overall. It's actually surprised me after the fact. I think I kind of want to get him out to the piano with Luke and get him to play, actually. The idea struck me earlier today, since he can't read or draw anymore. I think it would be an interesting thing to explore. (And then Luke would get to be better than him at something, el-oh-el.)

character: Zack Fair ([personal profile] wingenvy)
series: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
tagging priority: ■■□□□: He's basically last in line atm. Sorting out what I want to do with him is now a priority.
muse strength: ■■■□□: The Aerith post was hard. I think this is the slowest I've ever been with his tags. I'm wondering if it was just harder because I knew I had to drop someone and he was one of the three on the chopping block.
cast strength: □□□□□: Well, I'm down to zero for relevant castmates, but he's basically adopted into the XIII cast anyway. Now I just need to thread with Serah and Noel orz
plotting capabilities: ■■■□□: The potential is there, with the bar and Brave Vesperia, but I really need to expand and get him out there more. It feels like it's all I ever do with him, and that's lame.
general fun level: ■■■□□: He's still fun. I wavered between 2 and 3 but the lack of fun atm is purely circumstantial. I didn't want to do anything event-y with him this time because of all the issues. I wanna pick back up with him soon.
likelihood of drop: ■□□□□: Still just one block. If I decided even four was too much, he'd be the one to go, but he's okay right now.

Other Thoughts: One of my main failings with Zack is that he's one of those characters who should be EVERYWHERE, but because of me and my overly ambitious roster, he rarely is. Tags are easy, but tagging other people is tough sometimes (ie. getting things started), and post ideas don't come as quickly to me either. It's kind of headscratch-worthy. I worry sometimes that because I think of him as effortless I don't put as much consideration to his tags. It's something I ought to think about when Billy and Ed stop being attention whores. I should probably replay Crisis Core, honestly, but I haven't so much as touched my PSP in months. IDEK.

Possible Apps
...this section is still a formality. I dropped Suki and Fluttershy because I thought I'd be way more comfortable with 4 characters instead of 6, and it's already showing that I am. So nope, not apping anybody this cycle. This is just my interest list for "maybe someday", if I feel like playing more or drop someone else.

[■■□□□] Simon Jiha (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)
[■■■■■/□□□□□] A Character With A Fucking Dragon (Some Dragon Canon)
[■□□□□] ??? (Young Justice)
[■□□□□] ??? (Legend of Korra)

First two, same as last time.

Second two: I REALLY FUCKING LOVE THESE CANONS AND WOULD KILL FOR A MUSE OKAY. Though anyone from Young Justice would just clash with Billy so that probably won't happen. And for Korra I don't have a muse yet, I just love everything about it and want to be a part of the Avatar cast again someday. Probably. But I'm uncomfortable with playing characters in ongoing series without a decent amount of backstory or screen time, so it's either main cast or wait till the series is done. So that one's out too. |D;
